The How of Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio
The Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio grants monies to agencies throughout Ohio that provide financial assistance breast cancer patients. Their strategy is to make people aware of the purpose of the "pink ribbon" license plate. The plate costs $35 but $25 goes to Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio. The more plates they sell the more money they can grant to agencies to help patients and survivors. They do mass mailings to hospitals throughout Ohio to inform people that they are there to help and about the plate. They also have radio ads and newspaper ads. This year they will be at the Ohio State fair to promote the plate. Their target is anyone who cares about breast cancer patients and survivors. They want people to show their support 365 days a year. In 2008, they granted $55,100 to agencies in Ohio, and they are hoping to double that this year.
